Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This directive requires owners/operators of McDonnell Douglas (Hughes) Kawasaki 369H helicopters to identify listed component serial numbers (per Hughes SIN HN‑140) and carry out an initial inspection within 25 hours TIS after 3 January 1980, with ongoing periodic inspections per the referenced service notice.

It responds to reported cracking of main rotor lead‑lag attach lugs, shifts inspection costs and downtime to operators, and obliges maintenance organisations to perform and record the required checks.
