Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This CASA Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of certain McDonnell Douglas (Hughes) 369H helicopters (tailboom P/N 369A-3505-505; serial numbers per Hughes SIN No. HN-111.1) to inspect the tail rotor transmission attachment bracket assemblies for cracks, corrosion or defects within 100 flight hours after 10 November 1977. The inspections prevent bracket failure that could cause loss of tail rotor control and catastrophic accident.
