Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

Applies to McDonnell Douglas/Kawasaki model 369H helicopters with passenger interiors per Hughes drawing 369H90035. Operators must immediately fit two “DO NOT OCCUPY FOR TAKEOFF AND LANDING” placards on the forward divider (within 25 hours TIS after 21 May 1975) and, before any passenger uses aft‑facing seats for takeoff/landing, install Secretary‑approved head/back supports and then remove the placards. The rule imposes safety retrofit and short‑term capacity loss, with compliance and costs borne by the aircraft owner/operator.
