Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This AD mandates daily inspections for cracking of a specific aluminium tie‑bar bracket on certain Schweizer (Hughes) 269A/A‑1/B/C helicopters with listed H‑frame assemblies, and requires replacement with a steel bracket per the manufacturer’s service info. It affects owners and operators of those helicopters to prevent bracket failure that could damage the belt drive or cause loss of control.

Licensed AMEs may certify the inspection; pilots may perform checks only under the referenced maintenance rule, with results recorded.
