Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this is: An airworthiness directive (a mandatory safety instruction) issued to aircraft owners and operators.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Schweizer (Hughes) 269C model helicopters.

What it requires: You must either cover up (blank out) or physically remove a specific warning sticker (placard) from the aircraft's instrument panel. This sticker currently displays the limitation: "3200 RPM Minimum below 400 feet above terrain".

Why it matters: This removes an outdated operating restriction. The reference to Hughes Service Instruction No. N-134 indicates the manufacturer determined this RPM limitation was no longer necessary or appropriate.

When to comply: The modification must be completed within 100 hours of flight time accumulated after 31 July 1977. Note that "time in service" refers to actual flying hours, not calendar dates.
