Plain English Summary

4/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires operators of Schweizer (Hughes) 269-series helicopters fitted with tailboom support strut end fittings P/N 269A2015 or 269A2015-5 to follow a staged inspection and modification timetable: daily/overnight checks, recurring 50‑hour inspections, and a one‑off modification within 500 hours or by 31 October 1977. It points to Hughes Service Information N-109.2 for technical work. Operators bear the cost and scheduling burden; pilots may perform the daily check without certification while other work must be certified on the maintenance release or done by a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
