Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

Owners/operators of Schweizer (Hughes) 269 series helicopters must perform a mandatory inspection of the tailboom support struts: strip paint/sealant from the tapered ends and conduct a dye‑penetrant inspection, repairing, replacing, or repainting the struts as required.

This action responds to cracks found hidden beneath paint that could cause tail separation and loss of control. Inspections must be completed before the helicopter accumulates 200 flight hours after 17 August 1995.
