Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority requires owners and operators of British Aerospace (Hawker Siddeley) HS 748 aeroplanes to inspect the aileron operating arm bracket and carry out any corrective work per Jetstream Aircraft Mandatory Service Bulletin HS748‑27‑124, after cracks were found in the forward flanges creating an airworthiness concern.

If not already done, the initial inspection must be completed within 1,000 flying hours or six months after 23 April 1998; the service bulletin sets the inspection/repair details and subsequent intervals, and operators bear compliance costs.
