Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of BAe 125 Series 1000 aircraft fitted with the “Traditional Galley” (as identified in Hawker Raytheon SB.25-75-25A699A) to install Modification 25A699A. Mechanically, the work increases the galley feeder cable gauge and adds a fuse to eliminate incompatible cable/fuse ratings that could cause overheating or smoke. Operators must carry out the modification per the manufacturer’s Accomplishment Instructions by 30 June 1994; the CAA(UK) has classified the service bulletin as mandatory and extended its compliance time by two months.

AD/HS 125/140 Galley Electrical Feeder Cables 5/94

Applicability: BAe 125 Series 1000 aircraft, furnished with a `Traditional Galley’ at Chester and identified in Hawker Raytheon Corporate Jets Service Bulletin SB.25-75-25A699A dated 10 February 1994.

Requirement: Incorporate Modification Number 25A699A in accordance with the Accomplishment Instructions of Hawker Raytheon Corporate Jets Service Bulletin SB.25-75-25A699A dated 10 February 1994.

Note: This Service Bulletin has been classified as Mandatory by the CAA(UK).

Compliance: Prior to 30 June 1994.

Background: Galley electrical feeder cables and fuse ratings are not compatible. An electrical fault in the galley could result in the cables overheating, together with possible smoke generation. This Directive requires an increase in the gauge of the galley electrical feeder cables and the addition of a fuse in the galley.

The CAA(UK) compliance time is extended by two months.
