Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This mandatory airworthiness directive requires owners/operators to replace the governor pump idler gear stud in specified Woodward propeller governors used on AiResearch TPE331 engines. It applies to listed governor part numbers manufactured before certain design revisions and must be done per Woodward Service Bulletin No. 33565 within 300 hours time-in-service after January 31, 1978.

The action prevents governor mechanical failure that could lead to loss of engine power or propeller control in flight.
