AD/GENERAL/81 Amdt 2

What this document does

This instrument officially cancels (repeals) a previous safety rule — Airworthiness Directive No. 81 — that required aircraft operators to decontaminate fuel systems using Ethylene Diamine (EDA).

Who it affects

Operators of complex aircraft who were previously required to comply with the EDA decontamination procedures.

Why it matters

The original directive was issued in 2000 to address safety risks from contaminated fuel. Because the fuel contamination issue has since been resolved, the decontamination requirement is no longer necessary. This cancellation removes the compliance burden for operators, effective 25 October 2007.
