AD/GENERAL/55 Amdt 2 - Directional Gyros - Inspection - CANCELLED

What this is: This document officially cancels a previous aviation safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/GENERAL/55) that required inspections of directional gyros—the flight instruments that tell pilots which direction they are heading.

What it does: It permanently ends the requirement for aircraft owners and operators to carry out specific inspections on directional gyros. The cancellation took effect on 25 October 2007.

Why it matters: The one-off safety issue that prompted the original rule has been resolved.
