Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This rule requires owners of aircraft whose fuel gauges are inaccurate by over 5% or display only fractions (e.g., “½”) to install a correction placard beside the gauge. The placard must state the true fuel quantity corresponding to each major dial position so pilots can read actual fuel onboard. It affects any aircraft with unreliable or non‑unit fuel indicators and aims to prevent fuel misreading and in‑flight engine failure.
