This AD cancels a long-standing safety order that mandated specific engine oil‑tank modifications (originating with the 1950 DC‑3 rule and later expanded). It removes that retrofit requirement for affected older aircraft and owners/operators, effective 20 December 2007, because contemporary airworthiness standards now address the same safety concern.
