What this does

This instrument cancels an old air safety rule that required certain aircraft to display a warning placard about autopilot airspeed limits.

Background

The original rule (from the 1960s) applied when an aircraft's flight manual didn't list the safe speeds for using the automatic pilot. In those cases, owners had to install a physical placard (a warning sign) in the cockpit showing those limits. Modern rules now require flight manuals to include all necessary airspeed limits by default, making the separate placard requirement redundant.
