Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This directive mandates inspection of the main gearbox (MGB) “A”‑frame upper shackle attachment bolts on Eurocopter (Aerospatiale) Gazelle helicopters (SA341/SA342), applies to all Gazelle models, and requires compliance with Aerospatiale Gazelle Service Bulletin No. 01.16. Operators/owners must arrange and pay for inspections and any corrective work; CASA issues and enforces the requirement. It raises operator costs and downtime while aiming to preserve airworthiness by following the Service Bulletin’s technical steps.
