Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This directive requires operators of Eurocopter SA 341 G and SA 342 J helicopters fitted with CARGO AIDS cargo release unit p/n 2MK1 to check the cargo-ring dimensions against Eurocopter Alert Service Bulletin para 2.B and not to use the release unit until that check is done. CASA says the check addresses a risk that certain ring sizes can jam in the open-hook position and cause the loss of an underslung load.
