Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires all GAF Nomad N22 and N24 aeroplanes to have the bores of the upper fin rear attachment bolt holes inspected for radial cracks using one of the methods in ASTA Service Bulletin ANMD-53-19 (Accomplishment Instructions, Part 1). Inspections must occur before 5,000 hours time in service or before further flight after 18 May 1995, whichever is later. Aircraft owners/operators must arrange and fund the inspections; the Civil Aviation Safety Authority enforces compliance because a fatigue analysis identified sensitivity at these attachment points.
