Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

The directive requires owners/operators of specified GAF N22/N24 aeroplanes (serial numbers listed in GAF SB No. NMD‑55‑9) to install a horizontal stabiliser gust lock per that service bulletin, completed before 1 August 1980. It is imposed because wind gusts have damaged the stabiliser/control system despite the pilot’s control lock; the AD sets the mandate and deadline, while costs, labour and enforcement details are not specified.
