Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires owners/operators of Schweizer (Grumman) G‑164 "Ag‑Cat" agricultural aircraft to inspect and routinely replace the AN4‑12A bolts that attach the elevator control horn to the elevator. Corrosion or wear of these bolts can cause loss of pitch control, so the rule aims to prevent catastrophic elevator failure.

Initial inspection is required within 25 flight hours and then every 100 hours; bolts must be replaced every 1,000 flight hours or 12 months (torque spec 50–70 in‑lb).
