AD/G164/10 - Elevator Pushrod Assembly - Inspection - CANCELLED

This document cancels an old aviation safety rule that applied to a specific type of agricultural aircraft — the Grumman G-164 Ag-Cat.

What the old rule did: Back in 1967, the safety regulator required owners of these crop-duster planes to inspect the "elevator pushrod assembly" — the metal rod connecting the pilot's control stick to the tail elevators (the flaps that make the plane pitch up and down). If wear was found, a permanent modification had to be installed.

Why it's being scrapped: More than 40 years have passed. The regulator confirms that every affected aircraft would have been inspected and modified decades ago. Since the safety risk has been eliminated across the entire fleet, the rule is now redundant.

Who is affected: Owners and operators of Schweizer (Grumman) G-164 series aircraft — though practically, no action is required because the requirement no longer exists.
