Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

Mechanically, this directive requires all Gulfstream (Grumman) G.159 aeroplanes to be fitted with an approved Flight Data Recorder meeting FAA TSO C51a and an approved cockpit voice recorder. The FDR must record time, altitude, airspeed, vertical acceleration (at intervals no more than 0.1s) and heading, operate from taxi‑start until taxi concludes after landing, and allow time correlation with the CVR (for example by marking radio transmissions). The CVR must be installed by 31 October 1973. Aircraft owners/operators must fit and maintain the equipment to comply.
