| Applicability: | All Model FU24 aircraft. |

| Requirement: | 1. Remove aileron balance cables P/N 242671, 242672 and both LH and RH aileron cables P/Ns 242597, in accordance with Maintenance Manual Chapter 27Section 2, vii.2. Inspect cables using the acceptance criteria of FAA AC 43-13-lB Chapter 7 Section 8.3. Replace unserviceable cables.Note: New Zealand CAA AD DCA/FU24/174 dated 30 September 2004 refers. |
| Compliance: | For Requirements 1 and 2 - Within 150 flight hours after the effective date of this AD unless previously accomplished.For Requirement 3 - Before further flight after the effective date of this AD. |
| This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 3 July 2008. | |
| Background: | The intent of this AD is to detect fraying of the aileron control cable where it passes through the wing rib fairleads. |
