This Airworthiness Directive requires owners and operators of specific agricultural aircraft to install warning labels to prevent accidental damage.

Who it affects Owners and operators of Airparts (NZ) Ltd FU 24 series aeroplanes used in agricultural operations (crop dusting, spraying, etc.).

What you must do Install a "NO STEP" placard (warning sign) on both sides of the aircraft fuselage, positioned immediately above the back half of the canopy rails (the transparent cockpit cover). The letters must be at least 1 inch (approximately 2.5cm) high.

Deadline You must complete this within 100 hours of flight time after 30 September 1971.

Why it matters This prevents ground crew or pilots from accidentally stepping on parts of the aircraft structure that aren't designed to bear weight, which could damage the airframe or cause injury.

AD/FU24/42 Installation of “No Step” Placard 9/71

Applicability: All models in agricultural category.

Requirement: Install the following placard on each side of the fuselage immediately above the aft half of the canopy rails:

“NO STEP”.

Note: Minimum letter size shall be 1 inch.

Compliance: Within 100 hours time in service after 30 September 1971.
