AD/FU24/41 - Pilot Restraint Installation - Modification - CANCELLED

What this does: This document officially cancels an old aircraft safety rule that required shoulder harnesses (upper torso restraints) in specific New Zealand-made agricultural aircraft.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Airparts (NZ) Ltd FU-24 series aeroplanes (commonly known as Fletcher agricultural aircraft).

The backstory: In 1971, authorities mandated that these particular planes needed proper upper body seatbelts for pilots if they were certified prior to 1967. That old rule is now redundant because a newer, general safety directive (AD/GENERAL/74 Amendment 1) covers all aircraft types.

What happens now: As of 17 January 2008, owners no longer need to follow this specific directive. Instead, they must comply with the general requirement for pilot restraints under the replacement directive.
