Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires specific Honeywell IC-600 Integrated Avionics Computers (listed part numbers) to be modified according to Honeywell Service Bulletin 7017000-22-43 and forbids installing unmodified units. It targets units known to be fitted to, but not limited to, Embraer EMB-145 aeroplanes.

The stated aim is to prevent ‘random reset’ failures of the electronic flight instrument system that could affect pilot control. Aircraft operators/manufacturers must absorb the cost and schedule the mandated modification by 26 September 1999, with installation barred until compliance.
