This AD requires owners/operators of specified Franklin piston engines (6A-350-C1/C2, 6A-335-B/B1/B1A, 6AS-250-A/A1) to replace a particular oil transfer plug per Franklin Service Bulletin No. 117 at the next propeller removal or engine reconditioning. Engines already fitted with plug P/N 21685 (stamped “A”) are exempt. The action prevents possible engine failure and preserves airworthiness.
