What this does: This is a safety directive (called an Airworthiness Directive) requiring a simple mechanical fix to Fuji FA-200 aircraft to prevent water damage to critical flight instruments.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Fuji FA-200 series aeroplanes (all models).

What you must do: Install a rubber blanking grommet (a rubber seal or plug) into the water drain access hole located on the underside of the aircraft fuselage. This hole connects to the pitot-static system — the network of sensors and tubes that measure your airspeed and altitude.

Why it matters: Water getting into the pitot-static system can cause false readings of airspeed or altitude, which creates serious safety risks during flight. The rubber grommet blocks water from entering while still allowing any trapped moisture to drain out.

When it had to be done: Within 100 hours of flying time after 31 July 1970.
