Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This amendment requires every Fuji FA‑200 aeroplane to be retired from service before it accumulates 1700 hours of aerobatic flight time (only time actually spent in aerobatics counts), with any prior "fatigue equivalent flying hours" converted by dividing by 1.5.

It affects owners/operators, who must track aerobatic hours and bear the direct costs of earlier retirement—reducing aerobatic service life, altering use incentives, and accelerating replacement or write‑off decisions.

AD/FA-200/17

Amdt 1

Applicability: All models.

Aerobatic Fatigue Life Limitation NK

Requirement: Retire the aircraft from service.

Note: Assessments of fatigue equivalent flying hours previously calculated in accordance with the original issue of this Directive may still be used but should be divided by 1.5 to be compatible with the retirement life of this issue. This issue of the requirement is a simplification and alleviation resulting from a further assessment of non aerobatic flight load spectra.

Compliance: Before achieving 1700 aerobatic flying hours.

Note: The hours are those actually spent in aerobatic flight and do not include positioning time.
