AD/FA-200/16 - Front Seat Restraint Installation - Modification - CANCELLED

This document cancels an old aviation safety rule that required shoulder harnesses (seatbelts that go over the shoulders) to be installed in the front seats of Fuji FA-200 aeroplanes built before 1967.

What it used to do: Originally issued in 1972, the rule mandated that owners of these specific Japanese-built aircraft fit upper torso restraints to protect pilots and front passengers during crashes.

What it does now: As of 17 January 2008, this specific rule no longer applies. It has been replaced by a broader general directive (AD/GENERAL/74 Amendment 1) that covers similar safety requirements across multiple aircraft types, rather than targeting the Fuji FA-200 specifically.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Fuji FA-200 series aircraft, though they remain subject to the replacement general directive.
