Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This directive imposes an immediate reduced maximum operating speed on specified Fokker F50 (F27 Mk 50) serials because a wing skin splice was found understrength. Operators must placard and insert a temporary Flight Manual change now, and complete a manufacturer’s structural modification by 31 Dec 1989. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority enforces the rule; operators bear the compliance costs, downtime and maintenance required to remove the restriction.
