Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This AD requires operators of Reims/Cessna F406 aircraft serials F406‑0001 to F406‑0086 to inspect the nose-landing-gear (NLG) steering cable within 10 flight hours and to modify it per Reims/Cessna Service Bulletin CAB00‑6 within 100 flight hours or by 31 December 2000. CASA issued the directive to correct electrical arcing from an air‑conditioning relay that can damage the NLG steering cable. The CASA delegate set the requirement (CAR 1998 subreg 39.1(1)); aircraft owners/operators must arrange and pay for the inspection and modification.
