Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This directive requires operators of Fokker F27 aircraft fitted with Phoenix emergency lights (P/N 80024 Mk.2, 80090, 01-33002) to modify the inertia switch so it trips at 2.2g ±10% (about 2.0–2.4g). Compliance was required by 1 March 1977. The change ensures emergency lighting activates in serious impacts but not during routine turbulence or hard landings, preserving battery life and evacuation safety.
