This AD mandates replacement of the forward cabin partition bulkhead door two‑part hinges on certain Fokker F27 aeroplanes with a more secure hinge per Fokker S.B. F27/25‑58. It’s aimed at preventing door detachment after abnormal landings (following an incident) and must be completed by 31 May 1986.

Affected operators/owners must procure parts, schedule certified maintenance, and bear the retrofit costs and downtime to meet the compliance deadline.

AD/F27/110 Forward Cabin Partition Bulkhead Door Hinges 3/86

Applicability: All F27 aircraft listed in the Requirement Document. Requirement: Action in accordance with Fokker S.B. F27/25-58.

Note: R.L.D. Netherlands AD 86/04 refers.

Compliance: Prior to 31 May 1986.

Background: After a wheels up landing incident the cabin door was found detached and partly blocking the doorway. This occurred due to the two part hinge assembly which allows the door to be lifted and removed. This Directive replaces the hinges with a type that is more secure.
