| For Requirement 2 - Before further flight immediately following the Requirement 1 inspection. | |
| This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 6 February 2006. | |
| Background: | The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has advised that a drawing review and associated inspections on aircraft have highlighted a potential chafing risk between the third crew member oxygen mask box, optionally installed in the cockpit ceiling, and feeder cables routed in the area. |
| This situation, if not corrected, could generate smoke or fire, which could be fanned by oxygen leakage from the box. This Directive requires the inspection together with any necessary repairs, modification of the routing and protection of the electrical bundles and/or cables in the vicinity of the third crew member oxygen mask box. |
