What it does
This instrument is an Airworthiness Directive (AD) directed at Dassault Falcon 2000 series aeroplanes and Falcon 2000EX series aeroplanes with the serial numbers listed in the AD. It requires a physical inspection of the outboard leading edge slats and, where incorrect slats or incorrect anti‑icing manifold (piccolo tube) installations are found, repair of the manifold in accordance with model‑specific instructions. The AD identifies the applicable inspection and repair instructions as F2000‑331 for Falcon 2000 aircraft and F2000EX‑91 for Falcon 2000EX aircraft, and makes compliance with those instructions mandatory for the affected aircraft. The AD sets a compliance window of either 330 flight hours or 7 months, whichever occurs first, for the mandated inspection. Where slats or manifolds are found to be incorrect, the AD requires repair "before further flight" for those aircraft. The AD declares that completion of the specified manifold repair is a terminating action for the directive for the relevant aircraft.
The AD becomes effective on 11 May 2006. The AD was issued under the authority of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and is signed by a CASA delegate, James Coyne, whose signature appears with the date 17 March 2006. The AD also explicitly notes that "EASA AD 2006‑0037 dated 1 February 2006 refers," which signals a direct linkage to an equivalent European Aviation Safety Agency instrument.
Mechanically, the AD does not mandate replacement of the entire slat assembly in all cases. It mandates inspection and, only if incorrect slats or manifolds are present, repair of the manifold according to the specified instructions. The AD states that repairing the manifold per the applicable instructions constitutes a terminating action, meaning no further mandated action under this AD is required for that aircraft after the repair is completed.
