| Background: | It has been found the occurrence of failed bearings of the RAT generator, which may lead to a RAT generator failure. The RAT generator was designed to provide emergency electrical power to essential systems in case of loss of all other sources of aircraft AC electrical power.Since this condition may occur in other appliances of the same type and affects flight safety, a corrective action is required. Thus, sufficient reason exists to request compliance with this AD in the indicated time limit. |
