This Airworthiness Directive requires operators of specified Embraer ERJ‑190 aeroplanes (serial numbers 19000002, 19000004, and 19000006–19000152) to carry out the actions set out in ANAC AD 2008‑10‑06 Amdt39‑1249 and Embraer Service Bulletin 190‑53‑0027 (or a later ANAC‑approved revision). It becomes effective 15 January 2009.

CASA issued the AD after the manufacturer found a risk that the ram air turbine (RAT) machined support can crack if the downlock pin is not withdrawn during RAT retraction. Operators are responsible for inspections/repairs and for meeting the AD’s timing and procedural requirements (Applicability; Requirement; Compliance).
