Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This directive requires operators and maintenance organisations to urgently inspect and replace older RFD life‑jacket inflation heads (specific serial range) fitted with Sparklet CO₂ cylinders. If the inflation needle has pierced the copper seal, the head must be replaced with the newer Miniflater before the jacket is carried or worn, and all old heads must be swapped out. It targets airlines and charters to prevent life‑jacket failure and possible loss of life in a ditching.
