Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive targets Exide 6AC9/6AC11 batteries (S/N 32659–33117) whose epoxy seals can crack and leak sulfuric acid. It requires daily inspections (pilot-performed and recorded), immediate replacement of any cracked units, and mandatory replacement of all affected batteries within 50 flight hours after 30 June 1984. Only a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer may neutralize leaked electrolyte and assess corrosion or damage.
