Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This instrument cancels a previous safety rule that applied to specific helicopters.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Eurocopter AS 350 (Ecureuil) series helicopters.

Background: The previous rule (Airworthiness Directive 84) required operators to modify the labels on hydraulic fluid reservoirs according to Alert Telex No. 29A001. This had to be done within 50 hours of flight time after May 2003.

What changes: That labelling requirement is now completely removed. Operators no longer need to make those specific label modifications to comply with this directive—the rule is void as of 30 July 2009.
