AD/ECUREUIL/49 - Lucas Air Equipment Hoist - Explosive Squib - CANCELLED

This is a cancellation notice for a previous aviation safety rule.

What it does: This document officially cancels Airworthiness Directive (AD) AD/ECUREUIL/49, which previously required specific safety actions on Lucas Air Equipment hoists fitted with explosive squibs in Eurocopter AS 350 (Ecureuil) helicopters.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Eurocopter AS 350 series helicopters who were previously subject to the requirements of the cancelled directive.

Why it matters: As of 30 July 2009, the maintenance requirements specified in the previous directive are no longer mandatory. This removes a regulatory burden that required compliance with Service Bulletin No. 25.46 by November 1992 and prior to installing any spare hoist. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority determined these requirements were no longer necessary for aviation safety.
