AD/ECUREUIL/37 Amdt 1 - Tail Rotor Control Spider - CANCELLED

This instrument removes a maintenance requirement for a specific type of helicopter.

What changed: Owners of Eurocopter AS 350 (Ecureuil) helicopters previously had to inspect the tail rotor control spider—the mechanical part that translates the pilot's foot pedal movements into tail rotor adjustments—under strict time limits. This rule deletes that inspection requirement entirely.

Why it matters: Pilots and maintenance crews no longer need to perform these specific safety checks. The aviation safety authority determined the inspections were no longer necessary, likely because manufacturer service bulletins or design improvements now address the original safety concern.

Who is affected: Owners, operators, and maintenance organisations responsible for Eurocopter AS 350 series helicopters.
