Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What this is: A maintenance safety directive for all models of Eurocopter AS 350 (Ecureuil) helicopters — commonly known as the "Squirrel".

What it does: Instead of forcing operators to track dozens of separate early safety notices, this directive bundles (consolidates) multiple older maintenance requirements into one document. It requires helicopter owners to complete specific manufacturer service bulletins (technical repair/inspection instructions) before the aircraft can receive its Certificate of Airworthiness (the official document allowing it to fly).

What's new in this version (Amendment 2): Removes one specific service bulletin (SB 05.08) from the list because that requirement has been moved to a different airworthiness directive (AD/ECUREUIL/44). This streamlines the paperwork while keeping the safety standards intact.

Who it affects: Anyone operating or maintaining Eurocopter AS 350 series helicopters in Australia.
