Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This document formally cancels a previous Australian safety rule (Airworthiness Directive) that required inspections or replacements of hoist operator's belt snap hooks on Eurocopter AS 350 helicopters.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Eurocopter AS 350 (Ecureuil) series helicopters that use hoist equipment.

Why it matters: The Australian rule is no longer needed because the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued a newer, equivalent safety directive (EASA AD 2010-0014) on 26 January 2010. Rather than duplicate requirements, CASA cancelled its own directive so operators only need to follow the European standard.

Key date: The cancellation took effect on 9 February 2010.
