AD/EC 225/9 Amdt 1 - Fuselage - Intermediate Gearbox Fairing Gutter - CANCELLED

This document cancels a previous safety rule for Eurocopter EC 225 helicopters.

What the old rule did: The original Airworthiness Directive required maintenance or inspections on the intermediate gearbox fairing gutter — a protective component on the helicopter's fuselage around the gearbox.

Why it is cancelled: The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued a new safety directive (EASA AD 2009-0275-E) that replaces the old one. Since Australia's rules reference the European standards for this aircraft type, the old Australian directive is redundant.

What happens now: Aircraft operators must follow the new European rule instead of this cancelled Australian directive. The cancellation took effect on 11 January 2010.
