Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

Summary: This Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of Eurocopter EC120B helicopters (serials up to 1278) to install object protectors on the cabin floor to prevent yaw-control jamming from objects slipping between the canopy and floor.

Compliance is required within 7 days of receiving components or by 28 Feb 2002; CASA extended the original 31 Dec 2001 deadline because the manufacturer could not supply parts. Costs and fitting obligations fall on aircraft owners/operators; the AD is issued under CAR subreg 39.1(1).
