AD/DO-27/3 - Elevator Hinge Bracket - Inspection - CANCELLED

What this is: This document officially cancels an old aircraft maintenance rule (called an Airworthiness Directive or AD) that applied to Dornier DO-27 series aeroplanes.

What the old rule required: Originally issued way back in 1964, the directive required owners to inspect, repair or replace the elevator hinge bracket (a part that helps control the plane's tail) on these specific aircraft.

Why it's being cancelled: The rule is now obsolete. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) determined that every affected aircraft would have been inspected and fixed decades ago, so the ongoing requirement serves no purpose.

What happens now: As of 30 July 2009, owners and operators of Dornier DO-27 aircraft no longer need to comply with this specific maintenance rule. It removes a compliance burden for what is likely a very small fleet of historic aircraft.
