Applicability:	Model 228-100, -101, and 228-200, and -201 aircraft, equipped with Main Landing Gear Strut part number A-511000 D00F, A-521000 D00F, A-511000-E00F, orA-521000 E00F.
Requirement:	Action in accordance with LBA AD 94-042.Note: Dornier Service Bulletin No. 228-214 refers.
Compliance:	Before 30 April 2006, unless already accomplished.
	This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 13 April 2006.
Background:	The manufacturer received reports of cracked main landing gear axles, which in some cases led to failure of axles at high operating loads. Investigation revealed the cracks were a result of manufacturing defects (grooves) in the axle inner radius.
