| Applicability: | Dornier 228-100, -101, -200, -201, 202 and -212 model aeroplane with option P05 or P09 incorporated. |

| Requirement: | Unless previously accomplished, modify the internal wiring of the cockpit and cabin auxiliary heaters in accordance with Fairchild Dornier GmbH Service BulletinSB-228-249 dated 19 November 2001. |
| Note 1: Compliance with this Directive replaces the requirements of All Operator Telefax No. AOT-228-21-024. | |
| Note 2: LBA AD 2002-264 refers. | |
| Compliance: | Within six months after the effective date of this Directive. |
| This Airworthiness Directive becomes effective on 27 October 2005. | |
| Background: | The German Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA) has been advised of instances of overheating of the internal heating coil on cockpit and cabin auxiliary heaters have occurred.This Directive requires the modification of the cockpit and cabin auxiliary heaters. |
